Symptoms

The following error is seen when the certificate import does not complete: Error: Failed to update certificate in credential store.

Cause

This issue is due to the way the shell or terminal interprets special characters.

Resolution

Special characters in PowerStore CLI input must follow the conventions of the shell or terminal being used. For example: In the Bash shell, the user must use the following to keep "\n" in the certificate string: $’<certificate string>’ In PowerShell, use "`n" instead of "\n" in the certificate string.
