Customer facing defect.

Symptom

WLC sends high CPU alerts similar to this one where x is replaced by the affected wncd instance: 2024/08/29 13:51:18.770514920 {wncd_x_R0-x}{1}: [errmsg] [20721]: UUID: 0, ra: 0 (warn) %EWLC_INFRA_MESSAGE-4-EWLC_CAC_WARNING_MSG: R0/3: wncd: CPU Utilization is at 90%, applying L3 throttling Clients may experience slow roaming times or inability to associate to a new AP in the affected wncd.

Conditions

WLC running 17.12.4 onward > High number of clients roaming (around 150+ associations per second)

Workaround

CPU stabilizes itself after roaming stops. If possible, balance busier APs across multiple wncd instances using the load command.
