The logs are seen ONLY with mixed AC+DC PSU combination, AC PSU removed, DC PSU V: PEM Out starts showing "Normal" state.
On an 8300 Chassis, we can see repeated mV Warning alerts for one of the power supplies in the system: *Aug 15 19:38:39.595: %ENVIRONMENTAL-1-ALERT: V: PEM Out, Location: P1, State: Warning, Reading: 10400 mV *Aug 15 19:43:39.634: %ENVIRONMENTAL-1-ALERT: V: PEM Out, Location: P1, State: Warning, Reading: 10400 mV *Aug 15 19:48:39.672: %ENVIRONMENTAL-1-ALERT: V: PEM Out, Location: P1, State: Warning, Reading: 10400 mV
AC and DC PSU are installed and operational on the same cat8300 router. Router #sh inventory +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ INFO: Please use "show license UDI" to get serial number for licensing. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ NAME: "Chassis", DESCR: "Cisco C8300-1N1S-4T2X Chassis" PID: C8300-1N1S-4T2X , VID: V02 , SN: XXXXXXXXXX NAME: "Power Supply Module 0", DESCR: "250W AC power supply for Cisco C8300 1RU" #------------ AC power PID: PWR-CC1-250WAC , VID: V01 , SN: XXXXXXXXXX NAME: "Power Supply Module 1", DESCR: "400W DC power supply for Cisco C8300 1RU" #------------ DC power PID: PWR-CC1-400WDC , VID: V00 , SN: XXXXXXXXXX
No workaround if continuing to use mismatched power supplies, though the issue is cosmetic.
Incorrect reading of " V: PEM Out" of AC PSU when AC+DC mixed power supplies are connected on the same chassis/cat8300 router. when AC+DC PSU connected V: PEM Out P1 Warning 10400 mV when DC ONLY V: PEM Out P1 Normal 11900 mV
