WLC: C9800-L/CL/40/80 Version: 17.9.X - User password or the PSK password with " and 63 character length is removed from the WLC after the reboot. - When used as PSK, after the reboot the PSK WLN is disabled with the PSK key and it is causing interruptions with the network operations for the end users
- Version: 17.9.4 - The customer is using a 63-character password with two (“) in it - We know that (\) is added before (“) - Hence the password length is 65 characters in the WLC CLI - This works fine till the WLC is rebooted - After the WLC reboot, the PSK password is removed with the below log lines % node-1:dbm:wireless:ERROR: Invalid key length - Ascii PSK length must be in the range 8-63 % node-1:dbm:wireless:AKM PSK can be enabled only when PSK key is set or mPSK or Easy-PSK are enabled - This disables the PSK WLAN and it is causing interruptions with the network operations for the end users Lab test: - Tested this behaviour in the lab with 17.9.4 and the same issue was observed - That is, the PSK Key is removed, and WLAN gets disabled after the WLC reboot
- Use an encrypted password with the 17.9.4 code (or) - Upgrade the WLC to 17.12.2 code in which the same 63 characters PSK key with (/?) stays enabled and the key is retained after the WLC reboot with no password encryption.
