Symptom

N9K-C93180YC-FX3 in FEX mode not supported on 9.3(5) as reported in current documentation. Switch minimum version is 9.3(7) and if a parent switch attempts to sync version on 9.3(5) it will fail. Conditions

When attempting to downgrade a parent switch connected to a N9K-C93180YC-FX3 in FEX mode, will get the following error: F241.24.09-C93216TC-FX2-1# show incompatibility-all nxos bootflash:nxos.9.3.5.bin Checking incompatible configuration(s) for vdc 'F241.24.09-C93216TC-FX2-1': --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following configurations on active are incompatible with the system image 1) Service : fex , Capability : CAP_FEATURE_FEX_N93180YC_FX3 Description : N93180YC-FX3 fex is present in the system Capability requirement : STRICT Enable/Disable command : Please remove the N93180YC-FX3 fex and try again Checking dynamic incompatibilities: ----------------------------------- No incompatible configurations

Workaround

Upgrade to NX-OS 9.3(7) or later.
