Symptom

FTD sensors may remain stuck in Maintenance mode following a rollback process when an upgrade attempt fails. This can be detected by checking the "upgrade_rollback.log" log file on the sensor that remained in Maintenance mode following an upgrade failure, and by looking for the line indicated: [Mon Jan 01 10:31:45 UTC 2024] Restarted ActionQueueScrape. Entering /ngfw/var/tmp/999_leave_maintenance_mode.pl cat: variables: No such file or directory Failed to add ExitMaintenanceMode task <<<<<<<<< NOTE: This defect is specifically meant to resolve sensors staying on permanent Maintenance mode following a rollback, and not the reason for the upgrade failure.

Conditions

First seen on FTD sensors upgrade attempts from 7.0.5 and 7.2.5 releases, to 7.4.1 release version.
