Symptom

NMSP inactive stale entry would be noticed on WLC even after erasing the WLC on CMX/ Cisco Spaces there is no command or way to erase this entry on WLC side, if no NMSP messages received from location service, the entry would continue showing up, it would just show up as INACTIVE, counter metrics should not increase, however there it won't be possible to clear entry WLC#sh nmsp status NMSP Status ----------- DNA Spaces/CMX IP Address Active Tx Echo Resp Rx Echo Req Tx Data Rx Data Transport -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- x.x.x.x Active 180 180 2662 292 TLS y.y.y.y Inactive 98356 98356 6065797 35444 TLS

Conditions

Noticed after erasing the WLC on CMX or Cisco Spaces (i.e. due to IP or hostname change, etc), as we know CMX or spaces login to WLC to add themselves, however after WLC is erased on CMX, this entry won't be erased but rather show as INACTIVE

Workaround

The stale entry does not affect operation, it should be cleared out after single or HA pair 9800 reboot
