Symptom
Interface input errors on uplink interfaces of C9200L switches with 1G SFP.
'show interface' for the uplink interface will display a non-zero 'input errors' counter. CRCs may sometimes be observed as well.
'show controllers ethernet-controller' for the uplink interface will display more detailed counters under the "Receive" column, where non-zero counters for IpgViolation frames, SymbolErr frames, Collision fragments, and/or FcsErr frames may be observed.
'Rarely link flap is observed'
Conditions
1. Using 1G SFP on uplink of C9200L switch
2. C9200L switch is VID "V02" or higher per 'show inventory' output.
3. Input errors are specifically observed on the uplink interfaces.
4.Can also happen with 9200 of VID "V02" or higher.
Further Problem Description
May observe symptoms of Rx traffic loss such as protocol instability. Both L2 and L3 traffic can be impacted.
Issue can be observed with both copper and fiber transceivers used for the uplink interfaces. Downlink interfaces are not impacted.
