An ISR43XX with greater than 8 GB of DRAM installed should provide additional DRAM resources for the QFP. Prior to 17.8(1) only 256 MB of DRAM was allocated for the QFP which could result in high utilization under normal operating conditions. This change will allocate 512 MB of DRAM when there is greater than 8 GB of memory installed in the system. High memory utilization in this situation may be seen with the following messages: ----------------------- %QFPOOR-4-LOWRSRC_PERCENT_WARN: R0/0: cpp_ha: QFP 0 DRAM(EXMEM) at XX percent, exceeds warning level 85 %QFPOOR-4-TOP_EXMEM_USER: R0/0: cpp_ha: EXMEM_USER: XXXX, Allocations: XXX, Bytes-Alloc: XXXXXXXX, Bytes -Total: XXXXXXXX ----------------------- The amount of memory allocated to the QFP can be validated through the 'show platform resources': Router #sh platform resources **State Acronym: H - Healthy, W - Warning, C - Critical Resource Usage Max Warning Critical State ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RP0 (ok, active) H Control Processor 16.68% 100% 80% 90% H DRAM 5426MB(68%) 7958MB 88% 93% H bootflash 4081MB(60%) 6862MB 70% 90% H ESP0(ok, active) W QFP W DRAM 243143KB(92%) 262144KB 85% 95% W <<<< 262144KB (256 MB) IRAM 414KB(20%) 2048KB 85% 95% H CPU Utilization 1.00% 100% 90% 95% H Following this change 512 MB will be allocated which allows additional memory resources for the QFP.
ISR43XX running a release prior to 17.8(1) with greater than 8 GB of memory installed.
This is a change in behavior, there is no workaround.
