The Smart Licensing transport method unexpectedly changes from "callhome" to "cslu" after registering to an OnPrem VM. This causes subsequent authorization renewal attempts to fail because of the incorrect transport method.
A CSR1000v or another non-SLP-aware product running an affected version of code that uses standard Smart Licensing to register to an OnPrem VM with the callhome transport method.
As a workaround, customers facing this issue can reconfigure "license smart transport callhome" before attempting to renew authorization. However, a successful authorization renewal against the OnPrem server will change the transport method back, so this workaround is needed before each and every authorization renewal attempt. Alternatively, customers can move to a different Smart Licensing deployment method. For example, this issue is not seen on Direct Cloud Access setups.
