An XE-based switch may experience a leak within IOSd with DSMIB Server process. The symptoms of this would be growth within IOSd within processor pool and the holding column will show growth within the below process: 3850-stack#show process memory sorted Processor Pool Total: 885555632 Used: 659819376 Free: 225736256 lsmpi_io Pool Total: 6295128 Used: 6294296 Free: 832 PID TTY Allocated Freed Holding Getbufs Retbufs Process 0 0 862565304 526808384 310070808 0 0 *Init* 368 0 508492952 243307112 265230952 0 0 DSMIB Server <----
This is seen when 'qos diffservmib' is configured and under scaled conditions based on the number of policies configured.
None at this time.
Once in the problem state, subsequent allocations made within DSMIB will happen periodically every few seconds. The rate of the leak is slow but symptoms of this will be an increasing number of statistics query messages (which happen in the background and on a regular basis). The following internal CLI will show this symptom: 3850-stack#show dsmib buf Config Queue has 0 messages Stat Query Queue has 430 messages <--- Close to around the 'show mem all total' count for DSMIB Size=6004, Type=statistics query Size=148, Type=statistics query
