When trying to filter using grep, 'include' and/or any other operator utilized after the "pipe" ('|') command, is ignored when 'term exec prompt timestamps' is enabled. Once timestamps are disabled ('no term exec prompt timestamps') it once again works. We need the 'term exec prompt timestamps' while connected to our customer devices, to log important timestamps during our troubleshooting. But, we also need grep, 'include,' 'exclude' etc. while troubleshooting, as well. Not having the combination of the two is troublesome.
Normal operating conditions.
Disable (or don't enable) 'term exec prompt timestamps'
Filtering mechanisms such as grep, include (etc.) no longer functional with 'term exec prompt time.' This gives the entire output of 'show cli syntax' rather than filter on, in this case, "arp." Same is true of any operator after the '|' character.
