Bootflash gets formatted and all files get deleted if we boot an incompatible image on an ASR1000 platform. Console logs: %IOSXEBOOT-4-PART_INVALID: (local/local): /dev/bootflash has an invalid partition table that must be repaired. %IOSXEBOOT-4-PART_REPAIR: (local/local): The system will repair /dev/bootflash now. %IOSXEBOOT-4-PART_REPAIR: (local/local): This may cause loss of data and configuration on /dev/bootflash. %IOSXEBOOT-4-PART_REPAIR_FINISHED: (local/local): Partitioning complete. %IOSXEBOOT-4-FILESYS_INVALID: (local/local): partition /dev/bootflash1 has an invalid filesystem that must be re-initialized. %IOSXEBOOT-4-FILESYS_REPAIR: (local/local): The system will repair /dev/bootflash1 now. %IOSXEBOOT-4-FILESYS_REPAIR: (local/local): This will cause a complete loss of data.
ASR1000 with an incompatible IOS-XE image being booted. Example: ASR1001-X image being booted on ASR1002-X platform.
Double check if the image loaded on the flash is compatible for this ASR1000 model.
