Symptom

After upgrading to verson 3.6.5 on the Catalyst 3650 ports on some of the switches might be reported as faulty . When a PD is connected to one of those ports the switch will display ILPOWER-3-CONTROLLER_PORT_ERR: Controller port error, Interface: Power given, but State Machine Power Good wait timer timed out"

Conditions

Catalyst 3650 is used with 3.6.5E Note: the same error message sometimes get displayed with some Powered Devices, in those cases the power would be retried and the link would come up after.
