Inconsistent power supply status via SNMP with B0 power supply revision. - When the input cable is pulled out , the 'A1' power supplies shows status as "Shutdown". When the input cable is pulled from the 'B0' power supply [it is Delta B0 at customer site], its status is being displayed as "OK". It is because two different PS HW models behaving deifferently for same user action (removing input cables).
Inconsistent power supply status via SNMP with B0 power supply revision. on N7706 running 6.2 (10). The scenario is just pulling of the power cable, creating a power outage scenario. While doing an snmp walk of the device, the SNMP output shows a value of "2" with the B0 power supply revision. This issue is only seen with B0 power supply revision. With the A1 power supply revision, we see correct output.
Impact: - There is no functional impact as all calculations are based on output-power. Related SNMP-traps are sent when user pulls-out input cable. This status-difference issue is limited to N7700 and m9700 family power-supplies(AVUS). Workaround: - When input-cables are pulled, even if status is different, output-power reflects the change. User can query for following additional SNMP objects to get more information about power-supplies: CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB::cefcFRUCurrent CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB::cefcFRUPowerOperStatus CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB::cefcFRUPowerAdminStatus CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB::cefcTotalDrawnCurrent CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB::cefcTotalAvailableCurrent CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB::cefcPowerRedundancyOperMode CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB::cefcPowerRedundancyMode CISCO-ENTITY-EXT-MIB::ceExtEntityLEDColor.status CISCO-ENTITY-EXT-MIB::ceExtEntityLEDColor.power CISCO-ENTITY-DISPLAY-MIB::ceDisplayState CISCO-ENTITY-DISPLAY-MIB::ceDisplayColor Fix: - To fix this problem, enhancement will be done to consider input-power while declaring power-supply status. If input-power is 0, then PS will be declared as "Shutdown" irrespective of input-cables and on/off switch status.
