Overview
NOTE:
This solution requires knowledge of the network on which the printer is installed and may require the assistance of your Network System Administrator.
Contact your Network System Administrator if you require assistance with your network configuration.
Prerequisites: This solution requires that the correct print driver for this product and the OS being used has been downloaded and extracted to a known and accessible location.
Print a Configuration Report to determine the IP Address of your Printer.
Confirm that LPR / LPD is Enabled.
Open the Devices and Printers or Printers and Faxes window from your Windows 7 Computer.
Select
Add a Printer
from the menu.
Select
Add a Local Printer
.
Select
Create a New Port
radio button.
Select
Standard TCP/IP Port
from the pull-down menu.
Select
Next
.
Enter the IP Address of the printer in the Hostname or IP Address field
NOTE:
Remove the check mark from the Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use check box.
Select
Next
.
Select the
Standard
radio button.
Confirm that the
Generic Network Card
option is selected in the pull-down menu.
Select
Next
.
Select
Xerox
from the list of manufacturers.
Select
Have Disk
. The Install from Disk window will be displayed.
Select
Browse
. The Locate File window will be displayed.
Browse to the location where the driver files are located in the Look In menu.
Select the setup info file (.inf).
Select
Open
.
Select
OK
.
Select the printer model from the list of printers.
Select
Next
.
Enter a printer name or use the default printer name.
Select
Next
.
Select the
Do not share this printer
radio button.
Select
Next
.
Insert a check mark in the
Set as the default printer
check box if this is to be the default printer.
Select
Finish
.
Confirm that the installable options and the port configuration are correct.
