You can use the Disk Overwrite feature to overwrite user-stored data on the device hard disk drive. There are two options for Disk Overwrite feature: The Disk Overwrite feature is available for devices with a traditional magnetic-based, spinning hard disk drive For devices with flash-based storage, such as solid-state drives and embedded multimedia cards, use the Job Data Removal feature. Any Disk Overwrite action: Scheduling Disk Overwrite Notes : Scheduling Disk Overwrite at the Control Panel Enabling Immediate Disk Overwrite Use the Overwrite Now feature to start a standard or full disk overwrite. Notes : Enabling Immediate Disk Overwrite at the Control Panel Scheduled: This option allows you to schedule a Standard or Full disk overwrite to occur at a specific time: daily, weekly, or monthly. Overwrite Now: This option allows you to perform a Standard or Full disk overwrite immediately. Takes the device offline. Cannot be canceled. After a disk overwrite action begins, you cannot cancel the operation. The disk overwrite action takes the device offline. In the Embedded Web Server, click Properties > Security . Click Image Overwrite Security . Click the Disk Overwrite tab. Click the Scheduled tab. On the Scheduled tab, select Enabled . For Frequency, select how often the device overwrites data: Monthly : For this option, select a day of the month, then set the time. Weekly : For this option, select a day of the week, then set the time. Daily : For this option, set the time To set the time, type the hours and minutes, then select AM or PM . Monthly : For this option, select a day of the month, then set the time. Weekly : For this option, select a day of the week, then set the time. Additional passes extend the overwrite time proportionally. A single pass of a standard disk overwrite takes approximately 12 minutes. At the control panel, touch Device , then touch Tools . Touch Security Settings > Image Overwrite Security . Touch the Disk Overwrite tab.
