Overview
The printer is constructed with four printhead lenses
The printhead lenses require regular cleaning to maintain print quality
Clean the printhead lens every time the associated drum cartridge is replaced, or if print quality starts to degrade.
CAUTION: Do not perform this procedure when the printer is copying or printing.
Open the front door of the printer.
Remove the waste cartridge:
To unlock the waste cartridge, rotate the waste cartridge lock lever 90 degrees counterclockwise.
To release the waste cartridge, press the orange tabs as shown.
Grasp the handle of the waste cartridge, then pull it out.
Place the removed waste cartridge on a level surface, with the openings facing up.
CAUTION: To avoid toner spills or malfunction, do not lay the waste cartridge on its side.
To unlock the waste cartridge, rotate the waste cartridge lock lever 90 degrees counterclockwise.
To release the waste cartridge, press the orange tabs as shown.
Grasp the handle of the waste cartridge, then pull it out.
Place the removed waste cartridge on a level surface, with the openings facing up.
CAUTION: To avoid toner spills or malfunction, do not lay the waste cartridge on its side.
Remove the print head LED lens-cleaning rod from inside the front door.
Slowly push the cleaning rod into the printer until it stops, then pull it out
Repeat this action two more times.
Return the cleaning rod to its original location.
To insert the waste cartridge:
Position the waste cartridge as shown.
Press the waste cartridge toward the printer, until it clicks into place.
To lock the waste cartridge, rotate the waste cartridge lock lever 90 degrees clockwise.
Close the printer front cover.
Position the waste cartridge as shown.
Press the waste cartridge toward the printer, until it clicks into place.
To lock the waste cartridge, rotate the waste cartridge lock lever 90 degrees clockwise.
Close the printer front cover.
