If the roles CNS-Datastore or CNS-SEARCH-AND-SPBM already exist in your vCenter system, during the PostInstallHook phase of an update to vCenter 8.0 Update 3, the process might try to recreate the roles, which causes a conflict and stops the update. In the Patchrunner.log , you see an error such as: Failed to apply patch roles_groups_users! Error: Role CNS-Datastore (id: 1090) not found in VC and Exception occured in postInstallHook for wcp:Patch .
