Ephemeral distributed virtual port groups create and delete ports dynamically when a VM powers on or off. When a VM is powered on from the ESXi host, a host-assigned DVPort is created and later replaced with a regular DVPort by a rekey operation from vCenter. If an ESXi host sync occurs before the VM powers on, vCenter might reclaim the host-assigned port and initiate a rekey while the VM is still powered off. As a result, the virtual NIC disconnects after the VM powers on. This issue is resolved in this release.
