When an ESXi host enters maintenance mode, it might not clear the resource pool mirror and reservations for the mirror before the evacuations of the last VM are not freed. This leads to insufficient memory being available for upgrade or update, especially if the last VM that is evacuated has a large reservation, such as tens of GBs. In the backtrace, you see an error such as Admission failure in path: host:system:kernel:stagebootbank . This issue is resolved in this release.
