When you revert the vCenter VM to a snapshot of version earlier than 8.0 Update 2, object IDs of existing VMs and such added after creating the snapshot might duplicate and cause the vpxd service to fail. In the /var/log/vmware/vpxd/vpxd.log , you see lines such as: ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "pk_vpx_entity" DETAIL: Key (id)=(123456) already exists.; Error while executing the query" is returned when executing SQL statement "INSERT INTO VPX_ENTITY (ID,NAME,TYPE_ID,PARENT_ID) VALUES (?,?,?,?) This issue is resolved in this release.
