On Zebra Android SDM660 platform device models, during the update to Android 13, an Enterprise Reset is performed by the device. If Workspace ONE UEM enrollment is not backed up and persisted properly on the device, then enrollment data will be wiped after the upgrade, and the devices will need to be re-enrolled.Additionally, StageNow enrollment barcodes generated through Workspace ONE UEM are not yet compatible with Android 13 (all Zebra models).
Prior to initiating the upgrade to Android 13, customers must persist Workspace ONE UEM enrollment and certain policies on the device. If the steps below are not followed, enrollment data will be wiped after the upgrade, and the devices will need to be re-enrolled: Ensure that the Workspace ONE MX Service application (com.airwatch.admin.motorolamx) is installed on your devicesUpgrade Intelligent Hub and MX Service applications to the latest version using the Upgrade File-Action. This method persists Intelligent Hub and the MX Service on the device. At minimum, Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.04 and MX Service 5.8 are required. Verify that WiFi Profiles will work after the upgrade. To do so, ensure that: WiFi Profiles are installed through Products and are persisted on the device. You can enable persistence for Profiles when adding them to the Product manifest.The WiFi Profile contains a Domain value. As of writing, this will require migrating the Profile to a Custom Settings payload as described in this article. Push a Product that runs the following intent described below under Run Intent to Persist EnrollmentStart the OS Upgrade to Android 13 Run Intent to Persist Enrollment Customers must send the following Run Intent to devices before pushing the Android 13 OS update to SDM660 platform device models. This intent will backup and persist all necessary files to restore enrollment after the OS update. This intent can also be included as the first step in the OS Update product manifest.mode=explicit,broadcast=false,action=com.airwatch.android.provisioning.CREATE_PERSISTED_FILES_BACKUP,package=com.airwatch.androidagent,class=com.airwatch.agent.action.IntentActionThis Run Intent requires Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub 23.04 and MX Service 5.8. StageNow Barcode Compatibility StageNow barcode enrollment will be compatible with Android 13 (all Zebra models) following a future enhancement in Workspace ONE UEM.
