Instant Clone provisioning fails with an error in the Horizon Console similar to: INVALID_CONFIGURATION_FATAL: Specified Host host-XXXXX has no accessible datastores in the input Instant Clone Creation Error Log entries similar to these entries below are seen in the Horizon Connection Server logs: 2023-01-18T13:15:15.562-05:00 DEBUG (27BC-21DC) <ajp-nio-127.0.0.1-8009-exec-1> [VCDatastoreFilterUtils] Datastore DATA :Templates is not accessible by cluster: /VC HOST/DataCenter/host/DataCenter VDI/
Horizon cannot access the datastore that has been aligned to be utilized by this pool.This can be due to: Host AvailabilityDatastore Availability
There can be several causes of the reported behaviour :Datastore is not presented to each required host. (Common Datastore Needed): Please ensure all datastores are presented to each host - If you intended to create a VDI VM on Datastore 1 and place it on esxi hosts 1 through 8 - Each host should be presented to the storage.Host Issue: Is the Host identified in the error reachable? Is it error-free?Permissions: Please ensure the service account in use for Horizon View Interaction with Vcenter has appropriate Datastore rights. Please see Minimum vCenter Server Privileges Required for the Horizon Administrator Role with Instant ClonesDatastore path or volume rename: If Activity has taken place outside of Horizon in terms of Datastore paths or Volume Naming, Please verify the change is reflected in the pool you intend to deploy by verifying paths are still accessible. Please see Looking up Managed Object Reference (MoRef) in vCenter Server (1017126) for an example of verifying within Vcenter beyond a visual inspection of the datastore path.Datastore Outage: We would advise investigation using both vendor and Vmware Best practices. Horizon View can be impacted by Storage outages and Performance issues. A strong base is needed for the best user experience possible.
