Starting with Horizon 2006 on the Horizon 8 release train or Horizon 7.13 on the Horizon 7 release train, Horizon can be deployed on Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS).This article discusses the support details feature parity between Horizon on-premise and Horizon on OCVS.
Feature Parity The same Horizon versions support both on-premise deployment as well as deployment on OCVS. The following two tables list features that are available on-premise but not available OCVS. Any Horizon feature not listed in the table below can be assumed to be supported. With the All-in-SDDC Reference Architecture, Connection Server, UAG, Cloud Connector/Horizon Edge and App Volumes are all deployed inside the OCVS SDDCs. For more details, please review the https://techzone.vmware.com/resource/horizon-oracle-cloud-vmware-solution-architecture on Techzone. Additional Interoperability Notes: You may extend your on-premises Horizon Pod to manage one or more OCVS SDDCs without having to deploy a separate Horizon Pod on OCVS. This is enabled by the Horizon Remote Agent feature. For more details, see https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/86304You can use Dynamic Environment Manager with OCVSYou can use App Volumes (version 4.0 or later) with limited support with Horizon on OCVS. The support limitation is specifically that sharing of appstacks from one OCVS vCenter to another is manual at this time. You can use Unified Access Gateway on OCVS.Use Horizon Cloud Connector to enable Horizon Universal Subscription and Subscription Licenses for Horizon on OCVS when connecting to Horizon Control Plane first-gen.Be aware of the HCS first-gen Control plane EOL timelines (KB92424)Horizon Control Plane first-gen services supported with OCVS include:Universal BrokerHelpdeskCloud Monitoring ServiceSubscription Licensing Image Management Service (IMS) is not available on the Horizon Control Plane first-gen for Horizon on OCVS.Use Horizon Edge to enable Horizon Universal Subscription and Subscription Licenses for Horizon on OCVS with Horizon Cloud Service next-gen.Horizon Control Plane next-gen services supported with OCVS include:Subscription LicensingMonitoringWorkspace ONE Access SaaS version is supported with desktops deployed on Horizon on OCVS.
