CBRC is a vSphere feature, utilized by Horizon Desktops. Content-Based Read Cache (CBRC) or Host Caching. It is designed to assist from a storage perspective in terms of IOPS reduction. For example, a digest virtual volume is created for each VM. CBRC is enabled on the VM and the ESXi host. The CBRC logs are present within VC and ESXi host logs in the following locations:vmware.logvmkernel.logThis KB highlights a specific scenario when an environment has multiple, separate connection servers pointing to a single vCenter.
This issue is caused when an environment has multiple, seperate connection servers pointing to a single vCenter. The connection server with the desktop pool with enabled CBRC setting will enable the setting on the host.Another connection server with CBRC disabled will uncheck the setting on the host as well causing the value to flip continuously.
Note: Ensure to take a complete backup of the ADAM database before proceeding. For more information, see Performing an end-to-end backup and restore for View Manager (1008046). Procedure:1. Connect to the horizon server LDAP database instance for HorizonConnecting to the View ADAM LDAP Database (2012377)2. Add a new name-value pair in this database called cs-skipdisablecbrc=1,under pae-NameValuePair in the path OU=Properties, OU=Global, CN=Common.3. Make this change to each separate connection server pod.
