When attempting to create or modify a linked clone pool, you may receive an error message similar to invalid value for parameter dgid passed to view composer function. To correct the Deployment Group ID, follow the steps in the article Creating or recomposing a pool fails with error: Invalid value for parameter dgid passed to view composer function (1000541) Attempts to provision linked-clone virtual machines may fail with the error View Composer Fault: VC operation exceeded the task timeout limit set by View Composer. To resolve this issue, consider reducing the size of your parent image disk or identify and investigate any underlying storage issue. When attempting to provision linked clone virtual machines, you may receive an error message similar to Selected parent VM is not accessible. After migrating the View Composer database to a new SQL server, you may find View Composer is no longer functional. After changing the password for the View Composer DSN account, the View Composer service may fail to start.
