Cannot license VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager (SRM) Licensing SRM fails When licensing SRM, you see entries similar to: Insufficient licenses Invalid license key
Validate these troubleshooting steps below is true for your environment.The steps provide instructions or a link to a document, for validating the step and taking corrective action as necessary. The steps are ordered in the most appropriate sequence to isolate the issue and identify the proper resolution. Do not skip a step. Ensure that you are able to locate the SRM license key in your Customer Connect profile. For more information, see How to view license keys in Customer Connect (2006831). Ensure that the license key entered is valid. For more information, see Entering a vCenter Site Recovery Manager license key in the vCenter Server fails with the error: license error 5 diagnostic message license file not found (1000609). Ensure that the SRM plug-in is installed correctly in vCenter Server. For more information, see VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager plug-in installation or upgrade fail to complete (1037447). If you are using a per processor SRM license key, ensure that the processor count of the SRM license key entered is equal to the processor count of the ESX hosts which contain the protected virtual machines. For more information, see Licensing Site Recovery Manager (1019614). Ensure that the SRM license key is entered in both the protected and the recovery site.
