Date, time, and environmental variables may vary depending on your environmentThe location of vpxd log file is in the following location per KB 2021804 : VCSA: /var/log/vmware/vpxd/VC for Windows: C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\Logs\ Manually starting the service fails
This issue may occur if the Diagnostics folder for the vCenter Server installation is deleted by mistake.
For Windows: Manually create the folder at the location mentioned in the vpxd logs. The default location for the log files in Windows 2012 is C:\ProgramData\VMware\vCenterServer\docRoot\diagnostics.For VCSA: This is a symbolic link to/storage/log/diagnostics folder. Recreate the symlink with the following command: ln -s /storage/log/diagnostics /etc/vmware-vpx/docRoot/ Once the diagnostics directory is recreated, start the vpxd service.
