We are excited to announce the initial rollout of our new search feature, designed to significantly improve the speed and efficiency of your search experience. Below are the details and important limitations to be aware of during this phased rollout.
Faster Search Experience Our upgraded search engine delivers results much more quickly, ensuring you can find what you need with minimal wait time. Expanded Search for Deleted Items You can now search for deleted items — a capability previously available only in the browse experience. Limitation: Only items deleted after 2025-03-31 are available in this new search. Any items deleted before that will not appear in the new search results; direct search is required in such cases. Restore Point Search The new search feature lets you search by restore points. Limitation: Only restore points created after 2025-03-31 are available in search. Scope of Search (Initial Phase) The first rollout includes only email (Exchange) search. OneDrive and SharePoint search capabilities will be added in the next phase. Email Body Content Search (Initial Limitation) At launch, searching within email body content will not be available. This capability may be added in future updates.
