This article documents the specific EC2 Instance Type / Azure VM Size that will be used by Veeam Backup & Replication based on the Helper Appliance size selected when adding Amazon S3 or Azure Object Storage.
Helper Appliance Sizes The table below documents the actual EC2 Instance Type / Azure VM Size that Veeam Backup & Replication will use based on the Helper/Archiver Appliance setting that was selected when: Adding Amazon S3 Storage Adding Amazon S3 Glacier Adding Azure Blob Storage Adding Azure Archive Storage
If limitations on EC2 Instance Type or Azure VM Size are in place that prevent Veeam Backup & Replication from creating the Proxy Appliance, the Archive Job will fail. For example, if the Azure VM size that Veeam Backup & Replication attempts to create is not allowed, the following error will occur: Failed to create Microsoft Azure VM: Resource was disallowed by policy. Reasons: 'This is not an allowed Size, only approved sizes are A0, Av2, B, Dv4, Dsv4, Dv5, Dsv5, Fsv2'.
