Third-Party Object Storage Offloading Software These third-party applications are designed to help upload files to cloud storage. For example, the third-party software Tiger Bridge has a setting for "space reclaiming," which replaces the on-prem files it has uploaded to the cloud with "nearline files," which are essentially stub files containing no content. If Veeam Backup & Replication attempts to interact with these stub files, it will interpret the lack of file content as being due to file corruption.
