When performing guest file recovery from a backup of a machine running Linux Kernel versions 4.0.0 through 4.1.33, the restore fails to mount with the error: FUSE mount is not supported on kernel versions 4.0.0-4.1.33. Upgrade the kernel and try again.
FUSE mounts on these kernel versions fail due to a known kernel bug, which was fixed in later kernel versions.
The general recommendation is to upgrade the kernel to a more recent version. However, in some distributions, the fix was backported to those older kernels. In that case, it is possible to force Veeam Agent for Linux to attempt the mount despite the detected kernel version: Note: This will only work if the installed kernel contains the backported fix for this bug. Open the Veeam Agent for Linux global configuration file — /etc/veeam/veeam.ini Uncomment the ignoreFuseBug line, change the value from false to true, and save the file.
