The earliest recollection of this bug is traced back to PAN-OS 12.1.5 - September 04, 2026. This bug is fixed in PAN-OS versions 12.1.5. Fixed an issue where GlobalProtect clients on Windows endpoints sent an empty cookie to the gateway after a user logged out of the Windows machine or rebooted. This triggered a full re-authentication instead of using the existing authentication cookie, which resulted in the generation of a new authentication cookie upon each login.
