Original Document Release.
When attempting to install network drivers to an HPE ProLiant server running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 (x86_64), HP Smart Update Manager (HP SUM) Version 7.5.x may report the following failed dependency:
Kernel(default:drivers_pci_pcie_aer_aerdriver)
This failed dependency occurs because two versions of the same package that is a dependency for the network driver are in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 (x86_64). HP SUM does not detect both versions of the package to resolve the dependency.
Scope
Any HPE ProLiant server running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 (x86_64).
Resolution
This does not occur with HP SUM version 7.6.0.
The latest version of HP SUM is available at the following URL:
http://h17007.www1.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/products/service_pack/hpsum/index.aspx
As a workaround, update the driver using a different process; for example, Service Pack for ProLiant (
www.hp.com/go/spp/download
) or manually upgrade the driver.
