The firmware update for an HPE MR416i‑o controller and UBM6 may fail and enter into a failed or exception state during the update attempt after using HPE OneView for VMware vCenter (OV4VC) to perform the firmware updates from HPE Synergy Service Pack (SSP) Version 2026.03.10.Note: This issue will not impact normal system operation. There will be no data loss, outage, or functional degradation.HPE OneView and OV4VC logs in the support dumps will also record the firmware update failures. The failure occurs only during the firmware update attempt during remediation.
HPE Synergy environments with HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 Compute Modules with HPE MR416i-o Gen11 x16 Lanes 8GB Cache OCP SPDM Storage Controller and HPE Universal Backplane Management 6 (UBM6) that are managed by HPE OneView with HPE OneView for VMware vCenter (OV4VC) and VMware vSphere Lifecycle Management (vLCM).
This issue will be addressed in a future HPE OneView for Synergy release.As a workaround, run the update a second time. The firmware updates for the components will complete successfully and the update process will continue normally for the remaining hosts in the cluster.
