SUMMARY:On L25.09 RVU, Non-threaded applications or Posix User Thread applications using OSS system call select() or Guardian APIs FILE_COMPLETE_SET_() and FILE_COMPLETE_ family of procedures on an OSS file may cause CPU halt %5100 under certain conditions.DETAILED DESCRIPTION:Non-threaded applications or Posix User Thread applications working with OSS files might cause CPU halt %5100 under the following conditions.A non-KLT (Kernel Level Thread) non-threaded application opens an OSS file and then performs a select operation or enables completion through FILE_COMPLETE_SET, or a PUT application opens an OSS file and performs a blocking I/O.An OSS operation is attempted using an invalid file descriptor, or the application attempts to open an OSS file after reaching the maximum open-file limit.The application terminates abruptly.ORA non-KLT non-threaded application opens an OSS file and enables it for completion through FILE_COMPLETE_SET_.An OSS operation or FILE_COMPLETE_SET_ is attempted using an invalid file descriptor, or the application attempts to open an OSS file after reaching the maximum open-file limit.One of the FILE_COMPLETE_ family of procedures is called.ORFrom a PUT( Posix User Thread) application, thread-1 opens an OSS file and performs a blocking I/O.Thread-2 performs an OSS operation using an invalid file descriptor, or it attempts to open an OSS file after reaching the maximum open-file limit.The OSS file on which thread-1 is blocking becomes ready.Likelihood: Likely under the stated conditions
