If the built-in Administrator account is removed from HPE Integrated Lights-Out 7 (iLO 7) and then an attempt is made to recover the password via the instructions in the following links, the process will not function.:iLO 7 firmware v1.19.00 (or earlier):https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=sd00005538en_us&page=GUID-0527DEE1-D8A4-4BEB-A0D5-75390609CE79.htmliLO 7 firmware v1.20.00 (or later):https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=sd00005538en_us&page=GUID-BBCC2753-9A61-416C-97E0-C6752659421D.htmlInstead, the following message is displayed:Note: iLO 7 firmware earlier than v1.20.00 will direct that the Nonce be sent to a deprecated email address:NodeWipe@hpe.com. iLO 7 firmware v1.20.00 (or later) will specify the current/correct email address:HPEInternalNodeWipeMbox@hpe.com. For any firmware version of iLO 7, the correct address isHPEInternalNodeWipeMbox@hpe.com.
Any HPE system with iLO 7.
This has been resolved in iLO 7 firmware v1.21.Note: HPE recommends NOT removing the built-in Administrator account. Instead, change the password to a secure password. If the built-in Administrator account has been removed and a recovery password is needed, perform either of the following:If there is another iLO account with a known password and sufficient privileges, the iLO can be reset to factory defaults in the HPE BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU), System Configuration > iLO [x] Configuration Utility > Set to factory defaults, that will recover the built-in Administrator account with the toe tag password. In this scenario, iLO will need to be reconfigured.ORIf there is no sufficiently-privileged user created password, or the password for that user is unknown, it will be necessary to open a case with the HPE support center to replace the DC-SCM module or the System Board, depending on the layout of the server.Contact your localcountry HPE Customer Supportor log a case via theHPE Support CenterTo download iLO 7 v1.21 (or later), perform the following steps:Click the following link:http://www.hpe.com/support/ilo7The page should refresh to display the "DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE" tab and the components that support the selected product.
