For HPE HVM hypervisor hosted VMs, attempts to change DirectSync settings will fail with a “Disk sizes can only be expanded and not reduced” error if the CD Drive is mounted. The CD Drive must be removed in order to edit the DirectSync settings on other drives.
Affects HPE HVM hypervisor hosted VMs with service plans specifying a minimum per disk size.
The workaround is to remove the minimum per disk size from the service plan temporarily to perform the DirectSync cache setting change.
