On any HPE ProLiant Compute DL110 Gen12 or HPE ProLiant Compute EL140 Gen12 server configured with an Intel E810-2CQDA2 Ethernet 100Gb 2-port QSFP28 Adapter for HPE (P41611-B21); in rare instances, the network adapter may not be detected in the default Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) settings after a system reboot. The occurrence of this issue is very low.The Intel E810-2CQDA2 Ethernet 100Gb 2-port QSFP28 Adapter for HPE (P41611-B21) is a two Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) design PCIe network adapter that delivers up to 100Gbps x2 of total bandwidth. Each ASIC enables 100Gbps.The enablement of slot bifurcation is required in this device since the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) does not support PCIe auto-bifurcation feature on the HPE ProLiant Compute DL110 / EL140 Gen12 server. When the slot bifurcation is enabled, the PCIe slot will be bifurcated into two equal bandwidth slots to enable both ASICs on the network adapter.
Any HPE ProLiant Compute DL110 Gen12 or HPE ProLiant Compute EL140 Gen12 server configured with an Intel E810-2CQDA2 Ethernet 100Gb 2-port QSFP28 Adapter for HPE (P41611-B21).
To resolve this issue, enable slot bifurcation on the system by performing the following steps:Make sure all Intel E810-2CQDA2 Ethernet 100Gb 2-port QSFP28 Adapters are detected under the BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU). Reboot the system if network adapter is not detected.Enable PCIe Bifurcation by Navigating on the following path:BIOS RBSU -> PCIe Device Configuration -> Advanced PCIe Configuration -> PCIe Bifurcation Options -> PCIe Slot1 or 2 Bifurcation -> select BifurcateSave and exit to reboot the system automatically.
