Ethernet MAC address information on any HPE Compute XD690 system configured with HPE InfiniBand XDR-based network adapters (NVIDIA ConnectX-8 SuperNICs) is shown in Redfish only after the network adapter has been initialized by system firmware. These HPE InfiniBand XDR-based network adapters (NVIDIA ConnectX-8 SuperNICs) support both InfiniBand XDR and Ethernet. When the Option ROM is disabled, these ConnectX-8‑based network adapters do not initialize during boot; therefore, the firmware cannot provide their MAC address information to the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC). As a result, Redfish may not display MAC address details for these network adapters.Note:Enabling the Option ROM will allow the network adapters to initialize and make MAC address data available, but it also produces a CX8‑related Power-On Self-Test (POST) delay that adds approximately 40 minutes to system boot time.

Retrieve the MAC addresses using the Redfish API by querying the following:/redfish/v1/Systems//EthernetInterfacesEach network interface entry (such as eth0 or eth1) includes the following fields when the network adapter has been initialized by BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) or Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI):MACAddress – Active MAC addressPermanentMACAddress – Hardware‑burned MAC addressThese fields appear only when the network adapter has been fully initialized during system boot.
