On an HPE system with HPE Integrated Lights-Out 7 (iLO 7), terminal emulation behaves incorrectly when accessing VSP (Virtual Serial Port) via macOS Terminal or PuTTY (Windows). Key mappings (e.g., Delete, Ctrl-V, Ctrl-C) are not functioning properly. This issue impacts the ability to perform remote support and setup tasks in the OS.For example, during a terminal session (Putty)• When pressing the backspace key, the screen will display "Ignoring char 7f."• When pressing CTRL-v to paste something into TTY (such as pasting a password), the screen will display "Ignoring char 16."
Any system running iLO 7 firmware v1.17 (or earlier).
