When applying a firmware update in HPE OneView that also includes a drive firmware update, the following error may be seen:IssueThe firmware update operation was unable to update the following components on server {server_name}: Micron_5400_M5400ALLHPG1.fwpkg (SHFW_036)ResolutionCold boot the server and perform the firmware update again. If the problem persists, contact your authorized support representative and provide them with a HPE OneView support dump and the AHS logs from the iLO.For example:Even though the error states the drive firmware was not updated, the drive firmware is updated to the target version. The issue can occur if the firmware on the HPE SR416ie-m Gen11 Storage Controller, that the drive is attached to, is lower than version 03.01.33.044 at the time of the attempted drive firmware update.NOTE: This can occur even when the HPE SR416ie-m Gen11 Storage Controller is updated to 03.01.33.044 (or later) as part of a Synergy Service Pack (SSP) update as the new SR416ie-m version updated as part of the SSP update is not active until the next reboot.
This advisory applies to HPE OneView updating drive firmware where an HPE SR416ie-m Gen11 Storage Controller is running firmware earlier than 03.01.33.044.
This issue has been resolved in HPE SR416ie-m Gen11 Storage Controller firmware version 03.01.33.044 (and later).If this issue has occurred and the HPE SR416ie-m Gen11 Storage Controller firmware is running 03.01.33.044 (or later), re-apply the profile and select firmware to clear any existing errors:
