Manually created Hostset names that have the numeric value of [0-2] in the third position (i.e., DC[0-2]) within the hostset name may cause service disruption.
HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 arrays version 10.4.x (or later) are impacted by this issue.
This issue is resolved in HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 version 10.5.55. Before completing this upgrade, complete the following procedure to mitigate the service disruption issue.Precheck:Verify whether the array has a naming issue of the manually created Hostset name. Execute the following command to provide output for review of the third character of the manually created Hostset names that have the numeric value of [0-2].#showhostset -summaryIf the hostset namesDO NOTmatch the criteria above, the array is not exposed to this issue.NOTE: Refrain from creating hostset names with a [0-2] character in the third position until after upgrading to v10.5.55.If the hostset names match the criteria above, complete the steps provided below.IMPORTANT: Contact HPE Support before proceeding with the following procedure if the naming issue is discovered.Contact HPE Support as root access is needed to connect to the array.Rename the problematic user created hostset name on both arrays.NOTE: OS auto-generated Remote Copy proximity hostsets RH[0-2] are not involved in this issue.Examples of naming conventions involved with numeric value in the third position:HS[0-2]..., MX[0-2]..., DC[0-2]...Use the following command to rename problematic manually created hostset names:#sethostset -name <newname> <oldname>2a. Verify both arrays for User Created Hostset are correct.Use the following command to provide outputs to verify both arrays' User Created Hostset are correct.#showhostset -summary2b. HPE Support will validate TOC consistency with root access.If TOC Check passes, HPE Support will proceed to Step No. 3.HPE Support will verify that both arrays do not have stuckioctl.HPE Support will restartsysmgron both arrays with root access.HPE Support will verify TOC consistency with root access.HPE Support will verify that theshowrcopyhosts on both arrays match.HPE Support will verify that theshowhostset-summaryhosts on both arrays match.Upgrade the array to version 10.5.55.NOTE: Refrain from creating hostset names with a [0-2] character in the third position until after upgrading to v10.5.55.
