HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen11 and 325 Gen11 nodes have been observed to have the IPMI/DCMI over LAN option enabled by default. According to HPE security best practices, this setting is recommended to be disabled for enhanced security compliance.When enabled, IPMI/DCMI over LAN allows remote management interfaces over the network, which may increase the attack surface if not properly secured. Customers operating in security-sensitive environments may consider disabling this setting. There is no impact on SimpliVity functionality.

This option will be disabled by default in factory configurations for new SimpliVity Gen11 systems. This change will apply to both SimpliVity 380 Gen11 and SimpliVity 325 Gen11 nodes.CUSTOMER RECOMMENDATIONSFor existing deployments, review the current iLO configuration and disable IPMI/DCMI over LAN if required by your security policy.WORKAROUND - DISABLE IPMI/DCMI OVER LAN IN iLO:Web Interface Method:Log into iLO Web Interface using administrator credentials.Navigate to: Security > Access Settings > Network > IPMI/DCMI over LANUncheck or set the option to Disabled.Click Apply to save changes.(Optional) Reboot iLO if prompted for the setting to take effect.
