Refreshing the server hardware in HPE OneView will not prompt the HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) admin user credentials. The issue will occur where OneView's management user account/credentials that had been created on iLO are deleted from iLO. This will prevent OneView from being able to log into iLO to carry on server management activities.Generally, on a server hardware refresh, OneView will request the user's administration credentials for iLO that OneView will use to log into iLO to create its own management user account. Then OneView will use it for all iLO access when it is managing the server. The example below shows the error message seen during the refresh of the server hardware:
Any HPE OneView 8.7 or earlier versions when managing HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 firmware version 1.52 or later and Integrated Lights-Out 5 version 2.97 or later.
Upgrade toHPE OneView version 8.8(or later) to resolve this issue.ORRemove and re-add the server in OneView to bring it back into management. As a workaround, enter the PUT call. PUT https://{appl}/rest/server-hardware/{id}/refreshState { "refreshState" : "RefreshPending", "username":"iLO_Admin_User_Name", "password":"iLO_Password" }Note: More details are available in theHPE OneView API Reference. On the server hardware refresh, OneView should ask for iLO admin user credentials, which it will use to log into iLO. Then create its own OneView management user account, that is used for all iLO access when it is managing the server.
