When performing a force firmware update for Hard Disk Drive (HDD) firmware from HPE Synergy Service Pack 2025.07.03 through HPE OneView or the HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6 (iLO 6) or iLO 7 User Interface, the following error message may be displayed:"Firmware UpdateThe last attempt to upload firmware was not successful. Make sure you are using a signed flash file and try again. If you are attempting to install a component, first upload it to the iLO Repository then to the Installation Queue."This will occur with any Hard Disk Drives (HDD) firmware on HPE Gen11 or Gen12 servers.
HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 or Gen12 Compute Modules running HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO 6) with a firmware version earlier than version 1.71 or iLO 7 with a firmware version earlier than version 1.18, and any Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) on any firmware version.
This issue is fixed in HPE Integrated Lights-Out firmware by upgrading to iLO 6 version 1.73 or iLO version 1.19 in the following packages:Online ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE Integrated Lights-Out 6Online ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE Integrated Lights-Out 7ORBoth iLO 6/iLO 7 firmware versions are available for upgrade inHPE Synergy Service Package (SSP) 2025.10.02(or later).
