HPE OneView for VMware vRealize Operations (OV4VROps) 3.2.2 or earlier versions may be unable to collect the generated metrics for HPE OneView from resources, such as the enclosure, server, network, server profiles, drive enclosure, etc. This issue will occur if the OneView Adapter or Synergy environment has the HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module as an interconnect module.vRealize Suite is now VMware Aria. vRealize Cloud Management provides the multi-cloud management platform designed to simplify the complexities of managing diverse cloud environments. VMware Aria's key components include Aria Automation (formerly vRealize Automation), Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations), and Aria Operations for Logs (formerly vRealize Log Insight). This issue involves Broadcom Aria, formerly known as VMware Aria, and the HPE OneView Adapter, which is a plug-in used for VMware vRealize Operations (vROps). The OneView Adapter will provide a unified interface for managing compute, storage, and networking resources. The adapter should collect performance data from HPE OneView and present it within the vROps interface, which offers insights into potential issues and enables proactive problem solving. However, while running OV4VROPs 3.2.2, the information for the Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module will not generate the required metrics to be collected, causing null values (#) to result. Null values are not collected from any resources, e.g., server, network, server profiles, drive enclosure, etc. This will block data from being obtained from all impacted resources for the OneView Adapter, which includes the Virtual Connect (VC) Module. This can occur when using this OneView Adapter plug-in for any Synergy environment with the VC module. The example below displays a "warning" that is received by an administrator for VMware Aria Operations under "Integrations," the warning is displayed for the OneView Adapter:The example below shows the Support Logs page with null value(s). Retry attempts can be made, but the result will be unable that information is not obtained from the interconnect module:The examples below show the functioning interconnect resources:The example below shows the VC interconnects that are not functioning, without HPE OneView generated metrics:This metric issue applies to all resources, not just the interconnect modules. Null values or # are not cause the issue, and all OneView resources are impacted, including all the other adapters. For the impacted enclosure, unknown icons will also be displayed:
Any platform administrator utilizing Broadcom Aria in combination with HPE OneView for VMware Operations (OV4VROPS) or VMware Aria Operations 3.2.2 or earlier in combination with any HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module for Synergy.
HPE OneView for VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) 3.2.3 will report data from all resources, including the HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module for Synergy data within OV4VROPS. Update tovROps 3.2.3for all of the necessary resource metrics to be available from the reporting console.
