On an HPE Synergy 480 Gen11/Gen12 Compute Module running Microsoft Windows Server and configured with an HPE Synergy 6310C 25/50Gb Ethernet Adapter, the RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) feature will not function when enabling it for a Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) cluster.
HPE Synergy 480 Gen11 Compute Module and HPE Synergy 480 Gen12 Compute Module running Microsoft Windows Server and configured with an HPE Synergy 6310C 25/50Gb Ethernet Adapter.
When this occurs, once the RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) for Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) cluster is enabled, the Performance Monitor in the host Windows Server does not increase RDMA's activity because the setting is not functioning. However, the Storage Spaces are still accessible even when configured with RoCE.Even though RoCE is a feature for enhancing the performance of S2D clusters, it is not a necessary feature to run them, configure the S2D without RoCE and it will function as expected.Revision HistoryDocument VersionRelease DateDetails2May 29, 2025Updated Resolution.1May 20, 2025Original Document Release.
