After updating HPE Integrated Lights-Out 5 (iLO 5) to firmware v3.0 (or later) the cpqDaPhyDrvCurrentTemperature OID no longer returns a proper value:Before the update:iLO 5 firmware v2.91:cpqDaPhyDrvCurrentTemperature .1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.5.1.1.70[root@DL385G10K5U33 ~]# snmpwalk -v 2c 10.65.175.18 -c public .1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.5.1.1.70SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.5.1.1.70.0.1 = INTEGER: 33SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.5.1.1.70.0.2 = INTEGER: 36SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.5.1.1.70.0.3 = INTEGER: 34After the update:iLO 5 firmware v3.06:[root@DL385G10K5U33 ~]# snmpwalk -v 2c 10.65.175.18 -c public .1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.5.1.1.70SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.5.1.1.70.0.1 = INTEGER: -1SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.5.1.1.70.0.2 = INTEGER: -1SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.5.1.1.70.0.3 = INTEGER: -1SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.5.1.1.70.2.1 = INTEGER: -1SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.5.1.1.70.2.2 = INTEGER: -1This occurs because iLO 5 uses the RDE path for the source of this data starting with iLO 5 firmware 3.0. This is part of an effort towards adopting DMTF standards.
Any HPE system with iLO 5 updated to iLO firmware v3.0 (or later).
There is an internal mapping for SNMP properties to DMTF properties. If it exists in the SNMP and does not have a mapping on RDE from DMTF, then it will function. The OID cpqDaPhyDrvCurrentTemperature has not been updated because RDE does not support it. BMIC support was previously confined to SR controllers; consequently, in iLO5 this OID can be implemented and updated only for SR controllers. A future mapping will be added into the DMTF Redfish WG to add those properties so they can be properly enumerated for the MR controllers. . When these mappings are available, this advisory will be updated.Document VersionRelease DateDetails2March 4, 2026Updated Resolution.1November 5, 2024Original Document Release.
